What is body language -

 Body language is a type of a nonverbal communication in which physical behaviors, as opposed to words, are used to express or convey the information. Such behavior includes facial expressions, body posture, gestures, eye movement, touch and the use of space.Good body language skills can help you motivate direct reports, bond with audiences, present ideas with added credibility, and authentically.



1. Blocking -

Whenever someone feels disengaged, uncomfortable, or closed off, their body shows it with what’s called blocking behavior. This is a micro negative. 
Body Language Tip for You: Watch for someone who does a lot of blocking. They might not be so open to you.



2. Facial Expression -

This  is an integral part of body language and the expression of emotion. An accurate interpretation of it relies on interpreting multiple signs in combination- such as the movement of the eyes, eyebrows, lips, nose and cheeks- in order to form an impression of a person's mood and state of mind.

3. Natural Smile - 

When it comes to smiling, the mouth can lie but the eyes can't. Genuine smiles reach the eyes, crinkling the skin to create crow's feet around them. People often smile to hide what they're really thinking and feeling, so the next time you want to know if someone's smile is genuine, look for crinkles at the corners of their eyes. If they aren't there, that smile is hiding something. 



4. Eye Contact - 

Looking someone directly in the eye  shows that you are confident and you trust that person. Unwavering direct eye contact can read as creepy or scary, so make eye contact when it’s necessary and take moments to look away or make indirect eye contact to keep it positive.

5. Nail biting

Nail biting is a type of habit that can demonstrate stress, nervousness, or insecurity. Oftentimes, people bite their nails without even realizing it.


6. Head nodding -

 This is a simply way to show that you’re listening and agreeable is to nod in acknowledgement of good points or questions that don’t require a verbal answer. Smiling while you nod makes this action even more positive.


7.The mouth -  

Smiling is perhaps one of the greatest body language signals, but smile can also be interpreted in many ways.
  • Pursed lipsTightening the lips might be an indicator of distaste, disapproval, or distrust.
  • Lip biting. People sometimes bite their lips when they are worried, anxious, or stressed and this is also saw female flirting behavior.
  • Covering the mouth. When people want to hide an emotional reaction, they might cover their mouths in order to avoid displaying smiles or smirks.
